"Why allow porn?" It's a fair question. Allowing adult content onto the boards, as well as hosting it, certainly limits who I can pass my site's link to, and also limits my advertising opportunities.
But on the other hand, it's the height of foolishness to assume that people don't 'want' "adult" material. After all, the internet is for porn. And on top of that, I don't think that it's my place to say what content should or shouldn't be allowed (within the law, of course). If you don't like it, there are plenty of other sites on the internet that do ban porn-- but I think that one finds that banning some adult content slowly and inevitably leads to the banning of other things: suddenly, you can't talk about politics, because it offends someone. Or about, well, anything. Attempts to sanitize a discussion will always, in the end, lead to the very discussion you're trying to promote being stifled. And if there's anything I respect, it's the free association of ideas.
So adult content is allowed all over the site. Deal with it. If the law (or your mom) says you shouldn't be looking at it, it's not my fault. I warned you.
